Netflix is something i only came across last Summer. I'd heard about it often, but never got round to trying it out for myself. One afternoon after work i signed up and couldn't believe the amount of choice available!! Firstly seeing Disney movies i hadn't got on DVD made me super happy and i ended up watching films constantly for months. That's when i discovered the box sets available and the rest is history!
Here's my list of watched box sets:
Orange is the new black: Piper is engaged to be married when a past crime catches up with her. She ends up in a minimum security prison where she learns to just to life behind bars. There is a lot of comedy along the way, not to mention the theme tune is really catchy! The Third season will be out this June! Woo!
American Horror Story: I was nervous to try this out, especially as the thumbnail photo is disturbing! What i didn't know is that each season is a different story. There are only only 3 seasons available so far on Netflix with two more on the way.
First is based in a haunted house basically, but you learn to grow to the family living there who without knowing get in touch with the ghosts within the house. That's when things spiral out of control.
Second is based in a mental asylum ran my the Church. There are many different stories along the way and for me this was much more interesting than the first.
Third is my most favourite and its set within a witches coven. You follow the story of the main witch Zoe as she discovers her powers, but also the stories of the other witches all desperate to be the next supreme. Id suggest watching this season first to get into AHS if you think its going to be scary like i did.
Pretty Little Liars: If you haven't heard of this, then you live under a rock! Basically 5 best friends, 1 goes missing and is presumed dead. A year on and the remaining girls receive anonymous messages from -A. This is when -A begins to play and taunt them with they secrets all the way into season 5 when everything is slowly being unravelled. 100% get Netflix if you haven't and get watching this. The first episode isn't all that, but it gets SO much better. Every single episode has you gripped.
The Blue planet: I've always enjoyed documentaries. Especially to do with marine life. The sea has always scared and fascinated me with all the interesting and crazy looking species. There's more sea than land and so much of it hasn't even been investigated even today! But lets be real, anything with David Attenborough narrating is amazing. This box set helped to relax me before bed during the first few weeks after my car crash. Its a real soother and you can learn so much. Dork!
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: New to Netflix and watched within 2days. Don't judge me! Kimmy is saved from an underground cult where she spent 15years of her life, thinking the world had ended. Watch her adjust to life in NYC in this hilarious show. Again, another catchy theme tune!!
Merlin: I'm such a geek at heart. King Arthur is known to be heir to the throne and Merlin is his wizard. Magic has been forbidden by Arthurs father Uther and so Merlin has to keep it hidden. Along the way many magical beings try to bring Arthur to an end including Morgana his step sister.
90210: I wish i lived in this postcode! A group of so called friends on their journey after school. So much happens on the way, death, suicide, stealing, fires, car crashes, acting, singing careers, prostitution, insane parties and not to mention the girls have incredible style! Ivy will always be my favourite character, closely followed by Silver.
Skins: Quite the throwback to College for me, when i was obsessed with watching this show and it was the talk of the college canteen the next morning. Every boy was in love with Effie & every girl was in love with Cook! So many seasons and everyone was just as crazy as the last!
The Inbetweeners: Surely this doesn't need much of an explanation? It's frikken hilarious!
Charmed: I may be slightly obsessed with this even now.. Some of you may see a slight link to me from this show too! Basically there are 3 sisters, who are witches and have the 'power of 3' Demons and warlocks attack them daily and its repetitive but amazing!
I've been watching it for as long as i remember and when i seen one of the Charmed sisters in PLL i was like :O !! As i haven't seen any of them acting anywhere else.
Once upon a time: An American fairytale drama, set in the town of Storybrooke. (Cheesy i know) The fairytale characters who live there have been sent into the 'real world' but stripped of their memories by a powerful curse. I've only just finished the first series this week. So far, SO GOOD!
Grimm: Nick is a detective living a normal life when his gravely ill aunt appears after years of no contact. She tells him of his powers and that he is a 'Grimm' protector of the human world from monsters brought to life from fairy tales. Gripping and addictive. There are three seasons on Netflix, but four all together.
And these are next on my list:
Vampire Diaries
Fargo
Dexter
Sons of Anarchy
The 4400
Suits
Lost Girl
Chuck
The Killing
Dead like me
Gossip Girl
What do you like to watch? Is there anything I'm missing out on?
